Idealizada e co-produzida pelo cineasta Martin Scorsese, The Blues é uma série de sete filmes realizados por Wim Wenders, Mike Figgis, Clint Eastwood, Richard Pearce, Charles Burnett, Marc Levin e o próprio Scorsese. Sem pretensões didáticas, os filmes são visões muito pessoais sobre vários aspectos deste gênero musical. Ulrich Felsberg, produtor executivo da série, integra o júri internacional da 27ª Mostra.

 
Devised and co-produced by the filmmaker Martin Scorsese, The Blues is a series of seven films made by Wim Wenders, Mike Figgis, Clint Eastwood, Richard Pearce, Charles Burnett, Marc Levin and Scorsese himself. Without any didactic pretension, the films portray very personal views on several aspects of this musical genre.
